An important part of the EHR is the medical images obtained over a patient's lifetime and stored in diverse PACS. Based on these findings the author formulates his vision and advises about the future role of the radiologist.Įlectronic Health Record (EHR) is a major component of the health informatics domain. Various topics such as web-based sharing of radiological images, teleradiology, digital communication and advanced processing of medical data, are discussed. In this thesis the impact of digitisation on radiology is analysed based upon diverse initiatives and research projects that were conducted in the period between the early days and now. Other major trends such as the increasing personalisation of medicine and growing engagement of patients in their healthcare process are also significantly influencing this turnaround in radiology. Radiology is facing many new challenges and opportunities due to the on-going exchangeability, integration and automated analysis of medical data and images. Digital archiving, processing and distribution of radiological images, as well as the development of various types of teleradiology, are an important part of this change. A real revolution has been provoked in radiology by the complete digitisation of medical imaging and the deep integration of Internet in both society and healthcare. In the dissertation “The impact of information technology on radiology services” the author describes the most important changes that took place in the field of information technology since the end of past century, and their impact on radiology.

The problem is not change in and of itself, but rather the pace of change. Even before Fury killed Death and Taxes, the deck was struggling due to the presence of Wrenn and Six, which had a similar effect on the meta. Even outside the Incarnations, combo decks in general have suffered greatly because of the introduction of Force of Negation. Endurance hoses Modern graveyard-based all-star decks like Dredge. Solitude, a creature similar to Fury except it exiles another target creature, also provides a similar cheap removal spell which makes it hard for any all-in creature deck. Decks like Infect and Death and Taxes also got axed by Fury. Humans wasn't the only deck that was effectively decapitated by the Incarnation elementals. Ragavan, while still legal in Modern, was far too well protected by countermagic in Legacy, and so saw a ban in one of the most fiercely high-powered formats in the game. Arcum's Astrolabe allowed Modern decks-which already have some of the best mana in the game-to play with four to five colors with almost no drawback due to how cheap and card efficient it was. Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis enabled an incredibly resilient combo deck that could consistently fight through some of the best graveyard hate in the format like Leyline of the Void. However, the sheer impact of Modern Horizons on the format has been greater than what Modern players could have reasonably anticipated.įirst, there are the cards that were broken enough to see bans. In some ways, Modern Horizons was very much intended to create cards that would have a high impact on Modern as a format. Previous to the introduction of Modern Horizons, Modern was usually a rather stable format where only occasionally Standard released cards would see significant play. Modern Horizons was conceived as a way to introduce powerful cards that would see Modern play without having to pass these cards through Standard. |
